The product scans fine but I was never able to register it. When I entered in the appropriate information and pressed, it just gave me a blank popup. I guess I will have to contact their tech support or email one of the community forums.

Although this software did a satisfactory job of scanning for viruses, it was extremely frustrating to use. The anti-spam feature never worked properly. Despite my best efforts, it continued to label some desirable messages as spam, and it failed to label undesirable messages as spam. I could never understand why this simple feature of the software did not work properly. Worst of all, however, a couple of years ago, I got the message that the software update would not run properly, and it would therefore be necessary for me to reinstall the software. After 20 or 30 minutes of struggling with the so-called user support online, I managed to enter the waiting list to talk to someone on the telephone. After waiting for 25 minutes on hold, I was connected with a conscientious, competent woman in India. But the telephone connection was so terrible that I was screaming into the receiver and straining to hear what she said. It took about a half hour of her assistance to resolve the problem. A few days ago, I again got the message that the software update would not run properly. I refused to go through that terrible process again. I cannot imagine why this is so difficult. The McAfee website should provide simple instructions for accessing and reinstalling the software, but it does not. Moreover, I got the distinct impression that McAfee is trying to avoid providing even the simplest telephone support for their product. I suspect the only reason McAfee is able to stay in business is that their software is the antivirus software that comes standard when you buy a Dell computer. That is why I stayed with it. But I now hate it so much that I uninstalled it and replaced it with BitDefender. So far, BitDefender is working fine – thank goodness!

I bought this to remove a Virus and it won’t work. Support (in India) took 30 minutes of my time. Made me installed it on another Virus free PC so they could get the registration. Waisted 30 minutes of my day and then told me for $89.00 I could have access to Tech support. Services S _ ck’s. I will not buy Mcafee again.

It seems like the virusscan is always performing some function behind the sceens and slows down the performance of my computer. I am thinking about switching back to Norton.
